Indie Craft Bizare

Last December Becca and I went to the Deluxe Indie Craft Bizarre at the state fair grounds. We had tons of fun looking at all the hand made items and buying some Christmas gifts. After about an hour
of oohing and awing over the beautiful things we started talking about having our booth. So this year we put in our application and are waiting to hear if we will have a space this December. These are some of the items we will have at our booth.
This adorable bear is made from upholstery samples I got from the local furniture store. He is so cute. I plan on having several of these little guys as well as some other adorable animals.

Courtney is an artist friend of mine who will also be showing some work at the fair. Her art is amazing. Here are a few of her creations that will be available.

Becca is best known for her knitting enthusiasm but she also enjoys re-purposing tshirts. She makes necklaces, scarves and many other items. I'm sure her items will draw a big audience.

Bailey makes beautiful birds nest necklaces. The necklaces are delicate and subtly reminiscent of the beauty of nature.

Liz, like, Becca, also likes re-purposing everyday materials into something special. Her lamp bottles and record bowls are practical as well as artistic.

Stuff I've been working on

This bear is too cute. I got the pattern from a book called One Yard Wunders. The book is full of great ideas for home organizing, kids clothes, toys and purses. I made this little guy in one day and with less than one yard of fabric. Pretty cute for such a sad bear.

Current work in progress

This is a painting for my friend, Dan. I wanted to give it to him as a house warming gift but it's taken over a year to get to this point. I'm having trouble with it. There's just something about it that I don't like. This is the building at 30 Rock in New York. The statue is Atlas. The colors are hard to see in the photo, dark browns on the bottom and a red brown that reminds me of Oklahoma dirt on the top.Currently you can see that I've finished the first coat of paint. The sides and bottom are nearly if not finished. The building and Atlas are still unfinished.

Please leave comments on what you think of this painting. If you criticize make it constructive.
